Doesn't "Canola" mean "Canadian Oil Low Acid" or something like that since the modification was to lower the fatty acid content of rapeseed oil? So, then, Monsanto is planning to modify a modification?....where does it end? >>> here's a page that answers many Q's about canola http://www.canola-council.org/about/Facts.htm Deb, canola was created by selective breeding, not genetic modification. the current GM canola crops are often glyphosate herbicide resistant varieties, genetically modified to allow application of a herbicide without killing the plant. ( not mentioning any companies here ) if the biotech's were gonna work on chiles, i suspect they might try to modify for drought resistance, or for whatever caused all those crop failures in the southern USA last year. was it a fungus?? regards peter g
