Hi All

I have not had a cold since I stopped smoking (and drinking) 12+ years
ago.
I have always eaten curry as any ex British soldier should since
childhood. I have been growing and eating chilies. Mainly cayenne for 20
years until four or five years ago when I became aware of being able to
grow Jalepenos at first and later Habenero and other varieties.

I had my first flu shot 4 years ago, as they are free here and
recommended for the over 65s. I was in bed for two days with the closest
thing to flu since I had the Asian flu in England during the 1960s.
I had the shot last year as I was traveling around the world, and had no
problem.
I will have it again this year as there is a bad strain due to arrive
shortly for our winter.
I feel that eating chilies keeps the cold bugs at bay but of course have
no proof other than not catching any. This may be due to living in a
rural environment instead of a big city as I did get a bit of a cough in
London last year. Passive smoking? as I stayed with a niece who smokes.

I made Doug's Texas Chile last night with the first of my fresh
Jalepenos plus a fresh Red Savina. I also tossed in a Heatless Roccoto
for good measure. My excuse is of course that
is for medicinal purposes. Hmmm where have I heard that before?
