It's with gardening in general that I'm obsessed. Since I started gardening I've stopped reading the newspaper, worked twice as hard to spend more time in the garden, read fewer and fewer books - except those on tape which I "read" while I dye yarn - and become more knowledgeable about plants than about nearly everything else. There are piles and piles of garden related materials all over the house, despite a place created just for them near the computer, and my project list will take longer than my anticipated life span. Of course, one could make a case for an obsession with irises over and above all the other plants. With over 600 clumps, we are edging toward growing them on the 3/10 of a mile strip across the road on our neighbor's farm. Only my husband turns me on more.
