We're expecting significant temperature changes this week - into the 20's. I guess that one remaining tough delphinium is going to go. What I need are two or three gorgeous, warm - read 50's - days to clean up a little lest the garden go through to spring as is. Had to dye yarn through the last beautiful weather. I can see your grin, George, as you look out at newly emerging goodies in your garden but truly I'm not jealous. I've got many undone things that have been waiting months for my attention, and long dark evenings are just the thing for doing them, especially with a cosy wood fire going. At least that's the plan until the catalogs arrive. Anybody know, btw, if I can get away with planting a white birch this late? We had to take two down and the little birch forest I've got looks nekkid.
