Pick 'em, George. Not because they're gonna bolt but because the
stems are gonna get tough. My experience with broccoli is that when
the heads get big I'll get more side shoots iffen I cut the heads
early. Besides, I like the stems best.
Just so yall know how lazy I was this year -- I went out this
evening and picked a mess of Broccoli leaves to put in a salad.
Little inch and 2 inch long devils. They went well with the tiny
radish leaves. That's right -- some of my radishes went to seed and
so did some of my broccolis. The broccoli leaves I picked were from
some Minaret broccoli I never cleared out. Tasty salad.
