She's always selecting varieties willy nilly from all sorts of fancy and expensive catalogs, most of which are put out by Yankees and other unsavory characters. Why just last year she grew 53, as in fifty-three, different varieties of tomatoes and Guess What? She didn't consult her county agent even one time! Talk about quality? You just wouldn't believe -- some of those tomatoes were flat tasteless! Did you mention potatoes? Did you know that Cathy can't grow a decent baking potato? I swear. And she sent me some basil last year that tasted like it fell into the fennel patch and died. I swear. Agnes Leigh
