Hi, Harry! Glad to see you're a subscriber here. I love Butterfruit too,
but don't grow it anymore because it isn't as good as it used to be. I
think they've lost the handle on that hybrid. I'm poking around trying
other varieties. Tried Precocious and didn't like the way it grew. Three
foot stalks, even the suckers had ears (papery cornless cobs), and
sometimes the tassels had kernels of corn on them. It gave me the willies.
This year I'm trying Sugar Buns and Incredible. Farmers markets sell
these when they're immature, so I can't tell whether they have a corn
flavor or not. Margaret
