What say ye, oh scientific guru's > of the list? Me and Catharine are just ordinary old oil field trash. At one time General Dynamics was having a major problem with a large mainframe installation in a new office building. The drives of all the boxes (all lined up against an exterior wall) were always going haywire for none of the usual rasons. Technicians were flown in by the bucket load, necessitating the laying in of vast amounts of Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Oreos.. Hard drives were replaced and replaced and replaced. One of the engineers (a radio geek, natch) started keeping records of solar flares (disturbances in electromagnetic field) and drive failure. Perfect correlation. So, in true geek fashion, he rigged up a "cage" of chicken wire to surround the vastly expensive and Highly Important mainframes. It worked. Catharine
