Hi George, Well, we spent a traditional 4th. Real Texas BBQ brisket, potato salad, fried yellow squash, stuffed jalapeno peppers, beans, watermelon and canteloupe. The only two things that didn't come out of the garden was the brisket. Today it was back to work canning. So far this weekend Judy and I have made 26 - 1/2 pints of jelly, 19qts of Grandma Mertens' Kosher Dill Pickles, 7qts of tomato sauce and 7qts of salsa. We ended up with 1.4 inches of rain. We're grateful for that but could have used another inch or two. Tomorrow, its pickling time for jalapenos and more tomato sauce to be canned. Allen Bastrop Co.,Tx
