Hi y'all, I've been too busy, and gone to much to actively participate much this summer, but I have sure picked some great tomatoes this year! I picked my first ones on the 4th of July. I always get my first ones by then, and I often sort of wait to pick my first ones on that day....don't really know why. I guess, that way, I can remember when I picked them that way :-) The bell peppers and hot peppers are coming off too. Hot pepper vinegar is so good on collards! Trust me on this one. Just don't ask George.... ;-) It has been *very* hot here this year and so dry. We did get a couple of downpours yesterday afternoon, which helped. They are estimating that the farmers have lost around 40% of their crops to the drought here. My hibiscus that I planted last fall and this spring have started blooming and are beautiful!! I've had to water them fairly regularly, as I have most things, and I'm very happy with their first blooms. My pond is doing exceptionally well this year with good, clear water, and the pickeral, lizard's tail, water lilies, lotus, iris', etc have been beautiful, and the fish are doing well and growing. Life is, indeed, good! :-) Bambi
