My sister rents a house. She bought a small pond big enough for gold fish and has totally transformed a little side area into something absolutely charming. I think you can have a pond almost anywhere at minimal cost. She found a discount outlet instead of going through your basic suppliers. The cost was less than $300 including pump, fish, plant material. She put it in herself and used beach stone to edge the pond and blend it into the grass. Put in a couple of comfortable chairs and a garden backdrop in kidney shaped design. She put in a crushed stone walkway between the garden and the pond. The crushed stone she got from me for free. There you have it. Chris from Braintree, MA Zone 5
