> >Still looking for some hosta favorites. Would love to hear from you > Favorites? That varies from season to season. My springtime show-offs are Patriot, with its lavendar/white/green shoots, and Aureomarginata, with bright yellow shoots. The foliage season, May through July, turns my head toward Sum & Substance, with huge yellow-green leaves (plant will get 6' across when it grows up), Patriot again, beautiful wide white margins, and Niagara Falls, a green, dome-shaped leaf with heavy pie-crust edge. Bloom time changes my fickle mind, now turning to an old favorite, plantigenia (sp?), with it's six inch long, fragrant blooms. Guacamole and many others should make the list when they grow up.
