Hello Penny and all who use butter,

I haven't bought butter for years as a bread spread since I have cut
back drastically on fats. I make all my own bread and it tastes
wonderful without a fatty spread. When it comes to baking and
cooking, I never did use butter but vegetable shortening or
margarine. I know many are concerned about cholesterol using
hydrogenated fats, but if one uses them in moderation for those
foods requiring a solid fat, I don't see any problem. I use small
amounts of oil for most of my frying. So, as far as I'm concerned,
butter could go to $10 a pound and it wouldn't bother me at all.
