[gardeners] Asparagus & Rhubarb

Hi,
I want to plant asparagus and rhubarb in a new garden area this
next spring. I have never planted them before, because every place I
have lived, including childhood, there were always asparagus and rhubarb
already growing there. For that reason, I was never motivated to check
into the merits of the different varieties.
I would like some recommendations for what varieties of
asparagus, and which varieties of rhubarb would be a good choice for
growing in southern Missouri. That is, what varieties have you grown,
and/or eaten, that you really liked?
I will appreciate opinions.
