Must be La Nina..... >> I am new to the group, and just had to comment on NY, zone 6! I am in the San Francisco Bay Area and we are in zone 14/15 and it has been below 30F each night this week! I have lost so many plants already. Suddenly we had a cold snap just before I was going to pot up my chiles from the garden to overwinter in my house and the greenhouse. Now it is too late. Only the Thai Bird chiles that were in the green house have survived. I think once they have been bitten and the leaves are hanging and dark it's over. It is very cold for December! Usually we don't get this weather until the end of Jan. beginning of Feb. I think it snowed last night on Mt. Diablo by us already! Mary-Anne
