Oh, yes, the kids are coming in for Jim's 77th birthday party on
Sunday -- I think I mentioned that earlier. I've been cooking just
like the good old days in anticipation. I think all Jim's cousins may
have to sleep over (on the floor) when they finish eating, there's so
much! And this family NEVER diets...
It's been my experience that when the crocuses come up too early,
they cannot be stopped. My solution was to plant more of them in
the fall, but DEEPER. I even plant my tulips down at 10 inches....
Right now all my bulbs have been removed by the rototiller (by
mistake), excepting that I personally planted about 2 dozen
Kaufmaniana (tiny) tulips in the rock garden, at Thanksgiving.
They are not in quite that deep. We shall see..
