Hi, It has been a tough week for all of us educators. I wanted to share
with you what my kids decided this week. I think some of you might
remember that I work with the type of kids that just have trouble
fitting in and being part of the school community. Well, they have
learned some gardening.......and I am pleased. They asked if they could
plant some columbines in our school garden. I got them and they planted
them in remembrance of students they have never met and a belief that
that there are good people in this world. A few of my kids wear gothic
clothing and gothic cosmetics. A few cried and asked if they were
safe. As we planted the columbines two suggested other plants and one
even said that if we were on strike she would come down and make sure
they were all watered.

George's daughter gave us a lot of imformation about creating a school
garden and I think these kids just might make it their cause. So thanks
to George for connecting me to this information and thanks to my kids
who think a school garden is important to their lifestyle at school.
