On the sometimes rare occasion that I do get to weed my garden I don't really
worry to much about getting bit by snakes and spiders or anything else until the
grass gets about knee high.
I usually have 1 or 2 dogs with me and they either run out or find and kill
whatever doesn't belong in the area. I also make so much noise moaning and
groaning I think it scares EVERYTHING away! LOL On a really nice neat well
weeded garden I would just have a cane pole staff type thing or turn the hoe
over to poke around things like watermelons, cantaloupe, and other vining
plants. I still jump form hidden froggies. Last time I took the dogs with me
they killed a young armadillo in the garden. I don't know which is worse, the
armadillo eating or digging things up or the dead smell since we forgot to
remove it!
