But, in the midst of the regional lack of rain (I think
central Mississippi is still 5-6 inches behind for the
year), at my house, I'm about normal.  There was
a spell where we got a late afternoon thunderstorm
every day for nearly 2 weeks - but my mother, 20 miles
south, only saw showers two days.

Of course, the drawback to afternoon showers here is,
if they happen before 7:00 PM or so, as soon as they're
over, it gets like a steam bath outside!  95F will cook
that water out of the ground in no time.
