But, in the midst of the regional lack of rain (I think central Mississippi is still 5-6 inches behind for the year), at my house, I'm about normal. There was a spell where we got a late afternoon thunderstorm every day for nearly 2 weeks - but my mother, 20 miles south, only saw showers two days. Of course, the drawback to afternoon showers here is, if they happen before 7:00 PM or so, as soon as they're over, it gets like a steam bath outside! 95F will cook that water out of the ground in no time. ----- Original Message ----- From: George Shirley <gshirley@laol.net> To: <gardeners@globalgarden.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 1999 3:33 PM Subject: Re: [gardeners] No rain...??? > Harry Boswell wrote: > > > > Meanwhile, in the real Zone 8, we're having to air-condition the > > air-conditioners... > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Kay Lancaster <kay@fern.com> > > To: <gardeners@globalgarden.com> > > Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 1999 2:13 PM > > Subject: Re: [gardeners] No rain...??? > > > > > On Tue, 31 Aug 1999, margaret lauterbach wrote: > > > > > > > You probly don't want to hear what I've got to say, George, but I'll say > > it > > > > anyway.
