hey you folks! Here in Central Oklahoma (zone 7a) we had 95*F at about 2 p.m. today with around 52% humidity. No rain just some junky haze from Ark., Memphis and La. Ground is still cracked and it is so hard it would bend a back hoe bucket! I don't know what to do with this cool spell. Oops, I figured it out. I went and bought 8 - 6 inch pots of garden mums! Ok, I know it's still a bit warm for that but I couldn't resist. $1.77 ea. at Wal Mart and $1.89 or so at Lowes. Bought some nice variegated looking ones from Wal-Mart then went to Lowes for regular ones. Told Lowes about the Wal-Mart price and they beat it by 10% I paid a whole $1.59 each when done. I will try to dress some of them up for the house for a few weeks until it cools off some. I get up and go outside to play with the dogs between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. to enjoy temps in the 70*F range with a nice breeze. bsk@brightok.net zone 7a aka " Ranchmama " ----- Original Message ----- From: George Shirley <gshirley@laol.net> To: <gardeners@globalgarden.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 1999 3:33 PM Subject: Re: [gardeners] No rain...??? > Harry Boswell wrote: > > > > Meanwhile, in the real Zone 8, we're having to air-condition the > > air-conditioners... > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Kay Lancaster <kay@fern.com> > > To: <gardeners@globalgarden.com> > > Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 1999 2:13 PM > > Subject: Re: [gardeners] No rain...??? > > > > > On Tue, 31 Aug 1999, margaret lauterbach wrote: > > > > > > > You probly don't want to hear what I've got to say, George, but I'll say > > it > > > > anyway.
