Mine is 4 years old and it has gotten better every year like any
other perennial.  In an area with a longer season it might be
different.  I use a timed release fertilizer on everything
because it is so sandy here which might help keep it going.  I
also noticed one summer I didn't prune the older flowering stems
out it didn't do as well.
