Have had two houses here in Raleigh since '83, a garden in both. First house had small garden and learned the many tricks of "Mel Bartholemue-Square Foot Gardening. Compost is the trick to success here in the red clay of N.C. Clipped together a very neat drip irragation sytem this year and saved us from the drought. Our most joy just recently has been learning the art of canning all those veggie we grow in the summer time. Two days ago made spagetti with sauce canned in the summer (in the middle of THAT SNOW STORM). We were handed down an old National Pressure Cooker canner. Must be 50 yrs old.
