[gardeners] Monday in the garden - NOT

Only had time to peek in the greenhouse this morning and then water
everything in there when I came back two hours later. All afternoon I
have been watering the fruit trees, blueberries, and raspberries with
soaker hoses. Our area is still in severe drought conditions even though
we got nearly an inch of rain last week.

I've been cleaning up my office which is now starting to look more
business like and less like Fibber McGee's Closet (Only the golden
oldies will remember that one). Should do this more often as I found a
case of one gallon jars I had misplaced last year.

Our weather is golden, absolutely. Cool nights, and today, bumping 80F
with lots of sunshine. I'm itching to plant the spring garden so bad I
can taste it. Checked the soil temps today with my lab thermometer and
the soil is still below 70F so guess I'll wait a bit longer.

Chard, broccoli, carrots, and lettuce are still going strong so reckon
we'll have to wait awhile until those start bolting and then plant the
spring stuff. I've got to repot these seedlings tomorrow or they're
going to climb up on the lights. Reckon I'll have to put them in the
greenhouse and see how they do. Speaking of which, when I opened the
greenhouse today, about 10 am, it was nearly 110F in there. Guess I need
to get a new fan installed before long too. Ahh, procrastination, the
joy, the joy.
