Well, I got that "hedge" trimmed a bit. I took the saw/loper head off it's
fiberglass pole and lashed the electric hedge trimmer to it with some
clothesline. I'm pretty sure this was not a good idea but it worked. Got
the vines back far enough from the phone line that they may not get back to
it this year.
In other garden news, something's up in the row where I planted three packs
of old turnip, parsnip, and carrot seeds -- I'm guessing turnips. The
artichokes have their winter protection (maple leaves) completely removed
and are putting out leaves. I got the strawberries weeded. Out front, one
tree peony has five buds. I've just had it two years and have moved it
twice, so I'm really pleased.
