Any here willing to share some info on hot beds?

For those not fimilar with it, this is a method of using heat from
decomposing manure to heat a small area, to grow plants in

At he moment I have a boxed in area in my Greenhouse with about 8in deep of
fresh horse manure. I have it set up so that at night I place some glass and
cardboard over the top. With night temps still dipping into the high 20's,
the air around my plants is in the high 40's.

I just started a second boxed in area, This time using some fresh mink
manure with the "Trash Bag" compost method. The inital temp of this stuff is
57F. If that would hold, my peppers would love it.

My thoughts
Free heat
more compost for the garden.

TIA for any info
