Had work to do this morning and then back out to a meeting at 1000. About 1130 the bottom fell out of the sky, we got more than 6 inches of rain in one hour, terrible winds blew trees down, limbs down, and cleaned our carport for us. All the tomatoes were blown down and have now been put back upright. The power was off for about 4 hours so we took afternoon naps. I got completely soaked through just trying to get home and helping folks whose cars were stranded on flooded streets. Luckily I was driving the big red truck myself. Haven't had so much fun playing in the rain in years. Every one seemed to have big grins on their faces at the idea that the two-year drought may be over finally. The impoundments will be full of water again, the rivers will run fresh again, and the air is so clean it smells wonderful. Ain't nature grand! George
