[gardeners] Rain, rain, rain

Started raining heavily about 0530 this morning and then turned into a
drizzle about 0800 that lasted until about 1130. The weather person
tonight said we should have more of the same tomorrow morning. Low temps
tonight forecast to be 62F, been a long time since I've seen it that
cool in May. My rain gauge showed 3.25 inches whereas the official gauge
showed 2.6 inches. If we get that much again tomorrow morning I believe
our drought time will be about over.

Picked a few boysenberries this afternoon and a lot of New Zealand
spinach, some of which we ate for dinner along with yesterday's green
beans and some leftover beef roast. The rest of the spinach was blanched
and frozen for later use. Tomorrow I will harvest a mess of Swiss chard
for a friend who really likes it. He brough me several bass he had
caught this afternoon so it's really a trade out. The bass fillets and
backbones are in the freezer for a later meal and the innards, skins,
and heads are now buried under one of the fruit trees with a little lime
on top.

The rain was beautiful and so was the day.
