I grow black cabbage (aka cavolo nero, aka dinosaur kale) just to make that dish, which brings me to a question. I've used up my bought black cabbage seed and am trying to save some from last year's plants. I never tried saving seed from any type of cabbage. They bloomed and made seed pods, and now it looks like something is eating the ends off them. Eventually I guess they will dry up, what's left of them, and I can harvest the seed. How long does that take? Anyone have any experience with this? David
