George,
Plant any onions you want to bulb from mid-October through January.
You'll harvest in May or June. We are in the short day variety zone. Any
onions that you plant should be short day or intermediate day for best
results. Intermediate onions will produce mixed results depending on the
variety and the weather that winter. The warmer the winter is, the poorer
the production.
