Yes, they self pollinate to some degree.  But they're more sensitive to
temperature extremes than tomatoes are.

They don't set fruit well in very hot weather...I sometimes have blossom
drop problems in July, when nighttime temperatures are too the
80sF...or too low, 55F or so.
