Hello, Mary-Anne,

The sun peeked out from behind the clouds on Monday for only the
shortest while, before another storm cell moved in, dampening us still
further. Right now, at 7 a.m., it is raining again (!)

We received over 3" of rain from this past storm, and I heard on the
local weather last night, that L.A. has, officially, received more rain
than Seattle (!!), so far this year.

So far, the rain has been fairly moderate, for a "long-duration rain
event," but, nevertheless, places farther south, along the coast, have
received significantly more rain and much heavier rain: Torrance, for
example, is experiencing numerous mudslides in the hills.

The yard, needless to say, is badly in need of attention. We have been
unable to get out to apply dormant spray, and the nectarine is about to
blossom this week. I do hope it and the apricot are OK without the
spray.

This weekend, they are talking about another major storm moving in. More
weeds! Taller grass! Deferred chores!

If this rain ever stops, we will have about a month of deferred garden
chores...and this on a year when we chose to let our "gardener" go!

Stay warm and snug, dear friends.

Ron
