I live in a city, NYC.

Well, I wonder if a minivan can pull the stump. <g>

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on one's outlook, setting stumps on fire is illegal in New York City.  I was adviced by a neighbor to get in touch with a landscaping service and have them come to give me an estimate.  I think I'm going to do that.
