Today I invented and baked a fruitcake in my 2 lb breadmaker. I must say it turned out loverly. Made
with a standard sweet bread recipe with candied fruit, chopped dates, and chopped walnuts it baked
up good. It has cooled, been doused with rum twice, and is resting wrapped in muslin in a fruitcake
tin. Tomorrow it will get doused with rum twice more and will be ready.

Sunday afternoon we will drive to the daughters place in Splendora, TX and on Monday will be joined
by our son and his family for a noon gift giving and snacks. Since the kids have their own families
and in-laws it works out better this way.

With 2 kids, 1 spouse of a kid, 5 grandkids, 1 greatgrandkid, a grandcat and a granddog plus Sleepy
it will probably be a noisy gathering with lots of gifts, food, and, most of all, love.

I wish all of you a happy holiday of your choice and safe journeys if you are traveling.
