[gardeners] Tuesday in the garden

We've been out checking the greenhouse and covering the citrus trees. Have had two days of early
morning frost and the forecast is for morning temps around 28F to 24F for the next few days. Whoever
opened that gate in Canada should go out and close it.

Just in case we get a repeat of the 1997 ice storm that lasted 24 hours we've got both cars in the
garage and all the external faucets and waterlines are protected. It must be easier when you live in
a cold climate, you probably stay prepared for freezing weather all winter. With us it's just once
in awhile and is a big pain in the nether regions.

I think I'll go have a cup of sugar free hot chocolate and sit in front of a picture of a fire on
the TV.

For supper today we will be having homemade sauerkraut, blackeyed peas, Polska kielbasa, and
cornbread. If our luck for 2002 equals that of 2001 we will be very happy. We added two new members
to our family in 2001 and they are both little darlings.

Happy New Year to all. Life is truly good.

George
