Hi Margaret. My comment (in regard to Barb's list, not this one) was not a
question at all, not even rhetorical.  I know why her list has high s/n
ratio. I was on it many years, including when the two Barbs assumed
ownership. That's the list's intent, as noted in the welcome which notes
that discussions cover "a wide variety of topics including, sometimes,
gardening."

No offense intended to Barb or anyone else. It's a great list. Personally, I
lurk a lot and prefer less OT talk. For those who don't, fine. To each his
own.
