Jeanne, my hubby ordered some pistachio ice cream last week and was so
disappointed because what it really was (and always is) was vanilla ice
cream with almond flavoring....  

The one and only almond flavored food he enjoys is the Chinese dessert
called Almond Float.  This is kind of a jello made with milk, instead of
water, and has almond flavoring in it. It's served with Chinese canned
fruits, such as loquats, lichees and arbutus. I generally throw in some
sliced kiwi, for the sheer beauty of the mixture .....
