[gardeners] Monday in the garden

Nice rain today, about 45 minutes long, enough to water everything pretty good.

Yesterday we replanted the basil and today we picked several cucumbers and a few mild jalapenos plus
weeded the herb garden a bit. It is terribly hot and humid out at the moment so not much is being
done out there.

Lots of tomatoes in the garden, unfortunately they're all green so we're only eating a few cherry
tomatoes along with our cukes. The green beans are getting bigger by the day and I'm anticipating a
nice mess of fresh green beans on the table by this coming weekend.

The fig tree, the half that survived a freeze, is totally loaded with figs, none ripening yet. I'm
looking forward to those too as I intend to make some nice fig preserves this year, those lovely
whole figs with a translucent golden color and just right for one to the cracker. <VBG>

Miz Anne just got in from her life drawing class and Miss Sleepy Dawg is taking her twentieth nap of
the day and I've got to get back to work.

Life is good.
