Penny, a very very late answer to your question.  I never did take the 
cutting because there was and still is so much garden bed building and 
garden structure building - complicated by the fact that I have to travel 
so often and for such long periods.  But I sure hope I can do it after my 
upcoming trip which I hope will be my last one.  I will let you know how it 
works.
