It's a cross between a lemon and some other citrus but it's a natural cross not a manmade one. It is bright yellow but the fruit is more rounded than "lemon" shaped, has lots of seeds and a thick skin but has the flavor of lemon. Calling it a lemon was a compromise I reckon.
