One day I went to the hospital for a routine upper and lower scope (for me, routine) and was told I have GERD. I said, HUH??? And then read everything I could get my hands on. That day, the doc gave me a script for Prilosec, went to the Pharmacy, they said $130, I said KMA put it back on the shelf. Then I found out that I can get them free from the manufacturer and have been on them ever since. Good luck, George.
