Kelly, If I can chime in here George is absolutely correct. Flowering = bolting. Cabbage, radish and the such do the same as the heat of summer is upon us. I like early spring crops. They can be planted again in the fall but I thing there are a lot more bugs (cut worms, cabbage worms) to fight of in the fall. Good luck gardening. Have you a compost pile yet? If not, please do it. You will thank yourself. Soon... If your lettuce has bolted the radishes are going to the same thing about the same time. Both, in my experience, are cool weather plants. I live in SW Louisiana, USDA Zone 9b, and the lettuce went last month and the radishes even before that. Best bet for you is talk with your ag extension agent and see what the best planting dates are for each veggie in your area. I agree that caponata is good but you can only eat so much of it before the good wears off. <VBG> George Kelly McElheny wrote: > > Hi everybody, > > I'm new to this mailing list. My name is Kelly.
