Debbie, I dry my tomatoes with an American Harvest food dehydrator. I slice them about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick and lay the slices on the trays, then store them in ziplock freezer bags when dry. When I go to use them, I like rehydrating them in olive oil, but you can also do this by placing them in a small amount of warm water for 15 minutes before using.
