There's no doubt. An underdeveloped root system must be to blame. Earlier this week I pruned excess foliage from the tomatoe plant, especially from the upper half, leaving the growing tip. The tip finally perked up, then the sun came out. Going..., going..., but wait! The clouds came back, a gentle rain, and the whole plant looks happy again (silly, but happy). The interesting thing is that I haven't lost a single flower. I don't expect this plant will ever now catch up to the others, but it will be interesting to see what happens to it in the long run. All other tomato plants doing well, though with the cool, wet weather I expect the tomatoes to be later than usual. Great weather for lettuce and radishes, though! Pat Zone 7, Maryland
