Very true. I always feel rich when I finish "retrieving" all my saved seeds. I'm also convinced that saving seed from each crop is the best way to help Mother Nature 'evolve' strains that are adapted to my particular growing conditions. 

When I read old seed catalogs and reference books I realize just how much we have lost with loss of germ plasm. I *want* to be able to choose among hundreds and hundreds of varieties of tomatoes. Diversity in plants, as in humans, is a cornerstone of sustainable life.
