Son of a gun, I thought that I was the only nutty one to put my wifes
calcium tablets in the blender with some water for a tomato plant in a
container suffering from blossom end rot....now I feel better.

If one only has a few plants a couple ground up tums with calcium
per plant, will also work. Main thing is to adjust soil to proper pH.
Once the pH starts dropping below 6.5, the intake of calcium lessons.
