Steve I got started with soil pH and pH meters when I had one plant in a row that was stunted. Why I don't know, but the pH around that particular plant was low. Might have been cat sh-t. But you are still looking at 3 of 1 variety that are not doing well. Other varieties are doing fine. It appears that you are close planting. My book says leaf curl is from bugs, lack of water, herbicide injury or plant nutrients . I know you have enough experince to look for bugs. Did not see signs of spider mites or leaf rollers. Plants did not appear to be lacking water. No other signs of 2,4-D injury in pics. Only 2 things I can think of left is a bad spot in soil or that variety doesn't like crowded conditions. Might try a shot of a low nitro fertilizer, kelp, 4-12-4 or whatever on one plant see if it helps. Out of ideas from here.
