I recently did an experiment to see which method of starting seedlings worked best. Seeing how Spring is creeping up on us I figured maybe some of you will find this info. interesting. I took about a dozen seeds and placed them in three different mediums. The first medium was plain old potting soil and a grow lamp, the second was a heating pad and a damp cloth, and the third was a wet paper towel inside a zip-lock bag set next to the heating vent at my house. All three methods produced seedlings but the third option was most successful by far. Not to mention the least amount of work. All I did was fold up a couple paper towels and run some water over them until they are saturated. Then squeeze the water out so the towels are no longer dripping wet. Place the seeds in the center of the towel and place the towel in a zip lock bag. Only zip the bag about half way shut, and place it near a warm heat register. A week or so later you'll have sprouts. Well I'm off to see how my offspring are doing. Later, Steve
