I live in central FL and the Brazilian Pepper Tree is a major pest. It grows
real fast and you cannot kill it. The only way to get rid of them is to
pull up the roots. It is a member of the same sumac family as poison ivy and
poison oak. You have to wear gloves when pulling or digging them up. Birds
love the red berries and get intoxicated from eating them. The birds help
spread the plant. I sometimes find them growing in the pots with my chiles.
