How about somethig for the kids? A "Pin the Chile on the Chile Plant? game. Charge $1.00 for each try. Play is light a regular pin the tail on the donkey (blindfold the child, turn it around three times and let 'er rip) Score it as follows: 1 Miss the vine entirely - some sort of small cheap chile related prize (trading card, eraser, etc.) 2. Hit the vine but miss the "target spots" - a slightly classier prize (tiny sombreros?) 3. Hit a target spot spang on - win a BIG prize! (Plush Chile-toy?) Go to your local supplier of carnival prizes for prize inspiration - you will be amazed at the stuff that is available and - for the big stuff at least - most will allow you to return any big prizes you buy that are in undamaged packing. Also scout your suppliers for the cheap prizes - some will supply some sort of advertising cards or even buttons that will make great consolation prizes - Kids love anything that has bright colors on it! BTW they are all aiming at a big piece of paper on which some talented soul has drawn a nice big stylized pepper plant with a few large blossoms (the "target spots" that win the big prize). Its a lot of fun and it even will make money - let a local charity group run and benefit from it! We did something similar at a local festival some years back and cleared a couple hundred bucks! (That included one Dad why came by desperate to get one of the BIG prizes for his little boy who had no talent at the game. We let him have it at cost!) Have fun! Peace, love and peppers Lorraine
