Ew? I think {in my vegetarian way} I'll stick to keeping them as pets... Incidentally, in high school when I took Chinese, my teacher was inevitably asked if he'd ever eaten dog. He said yes and that it's got a nice flavour and is fairly tender, but it's considered common meat. Guests usually don't get it because it's the equivalent of hitting the McDonald's drive-thru to feed dear, respectable, venerable, rich Auntie Hilda. Whether Auntie Hilda likes McDonald's or not, it's just plain rude.
